About Pet Shack Resort

Woman holding out a flying disc to eager dog

Leaving your pet with someone else requires a lot of trust. Your dog or cat can’t tell you what a petsitter or an in-law missed. That’s part of why it means so much to me to have so many friends and clients willing and eager to bring their dogs to stay for weeks at a time.

I have been working in the boarding industry since 2018, and my connection with dogs is much older than that. My mentor, Suzannah Lundy, saw a lot of potential in me and shared her time and knowledge with me generously. Leslie Walker, who opened Pet Shack Resort in 1998, graciously afforded me almost a year to arrange the purchase of her business.

Our facility has a few unique features that we're very proud to be able to offer. One is our extra-large suites that every dog gets to stay in. These are 2-3x larger than the industry standard, and you can see from the picture of my German Shepherd below that there is tons of room for any breed of dog!

The above image also shows the dens connected to each suite. Dogs often prefer restricted spaces for naps, meals, and some other activities. Dens are accessible to the pups during the day and night so they can choose to be wherever they are most comfortable.

Pet Shack Resort also offers 24/7 webcam coverage for all suites at no additional charge. Our clients love being able to check in on their dogs on their phones at any time, and just like the enormous suite size, we are thrilled to be able to offer this luxury amenity to every boarder with no upcharge.

It is a blessing to work with dogs every day like I do, and the team here works our tails off to give them the treatment they deserve.
